Up the coast in North County, Oceanside is a beach community with deep military roots beside Camp Pendleton — and Bravo Family Mortuary is honored to serve its families. Whether your loved one called Fire Mountain, South Oceanside, or the harbor home, we coordinate every detail, including military honors for our veterans, so distance never stands between your family and a heartfelt goodbye.
Bravo Family Mortuary serves Oceanside families from our San Diego home at 4427 Rainier Avenue, about 40 miles south. Distance never means a lesser standard of care: we coordinate transfers throughout North County, handle arrangements by phone, email, or in person so families needn't make the drive south, and work directly with Oceanside's coastal cemeteries and harbor charter captains. With Camp Pendleton at Oceanside's doorstep, we are especially practiced at military and veteran arrangements, from securing funeral honors to filing for national-cemetery interment.

Honoring Oceanside's veterans and military families
Bordering Camp Pendleton, Oceanside is home to a deep military community, and eligible veterans have earned real burial benefits regardless of whether they choose cremation. The VA provides a burial flag at no cost to honorably discharged veterans, and by law every eligible veteran may receive military funeral honors — a detail of at least two service members who play Taps, fold the flag, and present it to the family. Eligible veterans may also be inurned at Miramar National Cemetery with no plot or interment fee.

Eternal Hills Memorial Park
El Camino Real, Oceanside

Miramar National Cemetery
about 30 miles south
A VA national cemetery offering in-ground cremation and columbarium inurnment at no cost to eligible veterans and their spouses, with the same military honors as casketed remains.
Scattering at sea off the Oceanside coast
Families who wish to return a loved one to the Pacific can do so under the EPA's general permit for burial at sea. Cremated remains must be released at least three nautical miles from shore, and the EPA must be notified within 30 days using its Burial at Sea reporting tool. Oceanside Harbor is a hub for these ceremonies, with charter captains running scattering trips directly from the harbor, and we can arrange the cremation and coordinate the date with a local boat.
