Sheldon Myron "Shel" Goldie, 90, of Chula Vista, CA, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024. Born on April 1, 1934, in Fargo, North Dakota, he spent his formative years in Minneapolis Minnesota. Shels Family moved to Los Angeles when he graduated High School but has lived in San Diego for the last 40 years. Shel was a kind and thoughtful man who was loved by many. He had a funny sense of humor and enjoyed trying out new restaurants with his friends and family. Shel was known for his generosity and always made sure those around him were taken care of.

Shel had a successful career in sales and liquor sales, juggling multiple roles throughout his professional life. In addition to his work, he enjoyed various hobbies such as working out at the gym, bike riding and taking long walks. He was an avid sports fan, often seen watching football games and attending Chargers and Padres games. Shel was actively involved as a facilitator in the OASIS men's group and served as the President of his HOA. Shel also worked as a senior mentor for the Social Services Welfare Department. Shel helped young welfare moms get training and a job. After a year, he became a supervisor of the South Bay area in Chula Vista and had 21 people working under him.

He also volunteered as a Docent at the Natural History Museum for several years.

A proud veteran, Shel served in the Army during the Korean War. His dedication to his country was commendable, and he carried the values of service and loyalty throughout his life.

Shel is survived by his children Eric, Marc, and Tamara, his son-in-law David, his grandchildren Max and Ethan, his sister Susan Cyns, brother-in-law Bob Radus, stepsons Pete and Victor Gomez. He is preceded in death by his mother Rose and father Max Goldie.

A Celebration of life to honor Shel's life will be held in July in Oceanside, Ca. He will be buried in California Coast VA Cemetery in Seaside. Shel will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
