In Loving Memory

Sandra Kay Gonzales

April 13, 1966 — May 18, 2025

Age 59

Flowers are fulfilled by Forever Blooms in Lemon Grove.

Sandra Kay Gonzales also know as Sandy, Sands, Sandypants, Dee and many more names, was born on April 13th 1966 to Stella and Mace Gonzales in Fallbrook California. Sandy passed on May 18th 2025 in Lemon Grove California.

Sandy is survived by her wife Rachel Tothill and her siblings Lawrence “Larry”, John and Sherrie.

Sandy was a Marriage and Family Therapist for most of her professional life – working closely with children and teenagers. Sandy loved her “kids” and helped many with difficult life changes and circumstances and always felt honored to have the privileged of caring for them all.

Sandy loved helping others in any capacity and was known for her kindness and generosity to all – she was also known for her quick wit and sarcastic quips. Sandy loved horror movies and was well known for quoting lines on a regular basis. Even in the depth of her dementia she was able to drop lines that would have people laughing. During her journey through the Alzheimer’s maze she touched many people’s hearts and even made some new friends along the way. Sandy loved her music almost as much as she loved her friends, her favorite singers were Alison Moyet and Bette Midler and on the hardest of days all it took was some music to put a smile back on her face. Sandy in her own words was a word nerd and loved all word games. Sandy had a voracious appetite for reading and loved nothing better than sitting on the couch or outside reading her book with her dog Gulliver.

Memorial Service for Sandy will be held on Friday May 30th at Bravo Family Mortuary in San Diego at 5pm.
