Age 63

Flowers are fulfilled by Forever Blooms in Lemon Grove.

Kathryn “Katy” Lynn Holm, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, died unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on June 28, 2025, at the age of 63. Her passing has left a deep ache in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Katy was born on December 27, 1961, in Berkeley, California. She spent much of her life in the Sierra Foothills, where she raised her family with warmth, resilience, and quiet strength. For many years, she was a full-time mother—her most important and heartfelt role. Later in life, after moving to San Diego, she found renewed purpose working in local schools supporting children with special needs. Her patience and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on those she worked with.

Katy was curious, thoughtful, and sharp. She loved to travel and took great joy in discovering new places with her family. When she wasn’t traveling, she could often be found relaxing by the pool in San Diego or playing with her granddaughter. She had a deep love for cooking and was always trying new recipes—especially ones she could share with family. Her home was often filled with the sound of classic rock and the scent of something delicious from the kitchen. She was also a puzzle master and a loyal Jeopardy! fan, rarely stumped by the final clue.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Holm of San Diego; her children—Brook, Bridget, Benjamin, and Brandon—and her granddaughter, Islay. She also leaves behind her parents, Penny and Gary; her sisters Jenny, Beth, and Sarah; her brother Billy; and many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 10th in San Diego.

Her ashes will be placed to eventually rest beside her husband, Steve.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness—and will be deeply missed.
