SPECIAL THANK YOU

all those that supported Bruce in life and the family
during this time of transition and bereavement.
Affectionately known as Bruce, he was born on the South Side
of Chicago, IL on January 3, 1953. A proud graduate of Chicago
Vocational High School’s Class of 1972, Bruce carried lessons of
discipline & dedication he learned there throughout his life.
He went on to serve his country with honor, training under
both the U.S. Navy & Marine Corps. Bruce was heavily
decorated and ultimately completed his service as a hospital
Corpsman Chief Petty Officer, Fleet Marine Force within the
Navy. His final station in Hawaii marked the close of his
military chapter, after which, spending over 25 years in San
Diego, CA, working with the U.S. Postal Service.
Bruce was a steadfast, stand-up man who lived a measured life
guided by discipline, grace, & integrity. His peacefulness was
loud, steadying those around him. In his passing, the depth of
love & respect from friends, colleagues, & family was
abundantly clear; he will be remembered fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnest & Johnnie Lou
Jones, his brothers, Eric Michael Jones (US Marines) & Jeffery
Jones. He is survived by his sisters Denise (Jones) Walton &
Grene Jones, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nephews,
& a host of family & friends who will continue to honor his quiet
strength and enduring kindness.
Though Bruce’s life was unexpectedly cut short, he leaves
behind a lasting legacy of perseverance, hard work, and service
to others. May his peace be our reminder of what it means to
live with purpose and heart.
