David Gregory Smith, III

David Greg Smith III passed away on Aug 15, 2023 in his home in San Diego. He was preceded in death by his father David Gregory Smith II and his mother Rachel Irene (Maddux) Smith. Greg was never married.

He is survived by two cousins Garry & Duane Maddux of Indiana. Greg was born Jan 15, 1959 in Amanada, Ca. He was a graduate of Berkley University. Greg had travelled extensively on several trips overseas as buyer and marketer. Before moving to San Diego Greg worked as a buyer for several companies. He was Senior Buyer for the Disney Store in the Art and Collectibles department, Buyer for Neiman Marcus, Creative Product Manager for Hallmark Cards, Merchandise Manager for Williams-Sonoma. Greg recently retired from FDT as Vice President of Merchandising.

Greg was an avid body builder and had received several awards. Greg loved luxury items, especially shoes. He will be missed by several close friends in the community. A memorial celebration will be hosted by his friends on Sept 28 at the Uptown Tavern 6:30-8:30 PM. Friends and the public are invited.
