Daniel Thomas Canniff

September 9, 1997 – May 15, 2026

Our family lost our dear Daniel as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in San Diego on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was 28 years old. Daniel is lovingly survived by his parents, Edward Thomas Canniff, Jr. and Catherine Sofia Canniff of Billerica, MA; his brothers, Timothy Canniff and his wife Alexandra of Berlin CT, and Brian Canniff and wife Alison of Bloomfield, CT; his niece and nephews, Collins, Charlie and Brady Canniff; and his grandfather, Edward Thomas Canniff, Sr. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Daniel grew up in Billerica, MA. From an early age, Daniel was adventurous and enjoyed being outdoors. He spent his days skiing, fishing, swimming, golfing, playing and laughing with his brothers. He treasured family trips to Ocean City, MD, Sunday River, ME and time spent at Lake Winnisquam in NH. Growing up, Daniel loved playing sports and formed friendships that lasted throughout his life. As a student-athlete at Billerica Memorial High School (BMHS), he played soccer and lacrosse, and was a three-time DECA business competitor. Daniel later attended Quinnipiac University, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting. After graduation, Daniel made his way to San Diego, California, a city whose sun, beaches, energy and open roads captured his heart. There, he discovered a deep passion for riding motorcycles and, with it, a community that became family. Daniel built a beloved presence among fellow riders and was a strong advocate for motorcycle safety, including on his final ride.

Daniel had a gift for bringing people together. We have been overwhelmed by the extraordinary outpouring of love from his California riding community, as well as from family and friends back home. Memorial rides, tributes, gatherings in his memory, and countless stories shared by those who loved him are a testament to the many lives he touched during his far too short life. Daniel will be remembered for his authenticity, pursuing his passions, loving those around him and living life fully. He loved his family, his friends, his cats and riding every day.

Everyone is welcome to his funeral service, it will be held at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica, MA on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following organizations near and dear to Daniel’s heart:
