Charles Ray Swopes was born to Oma Mae Pruitt and Charles William Swopes on August 28 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents moved to Bastrop, Louisiana when he was a young child and raised there. He went to Bastrop High School.
He passed away on April 28, 2023 at home with his spouse Charlene Swopes by his side.
He was preceded in death by his mother Oma Mae Pruitt Swopes, father Charles William Swopes and one brother, Floyd Earl Swopes (Wendell).
Survivors include his wife Charlene Wood Swopes (San Diego); his sister Nancy Carol Swopes Lowery (Marvin, Jr.) of Bastrop; daughter Spring Swopes Sanchez (Phil) of Pierre Part, LA; son Dustin Wade Swopes of Mississippi; step-children Shane Boyte, Gene Boyte and Susan Boyte; 3 natural grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several step-grandchildren, and 1 step-great grandchild from his spouse's children.
Charles was cremated in San Diego and his ashes will lay to rest once his wife Charlene passes away.
