Bonnee Cheryl Posner passed away on Sunday, April 13 th at 6:59am in San Diego. Bonnee was the youngest child of Mack and Sylvia Rabin. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois with her brother, Shelly and her sisters, Rita and Arlene, throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Bonnee loved music, dancing and cooking. She even went to a prestigious culinary school after graduating from Mather High School. In 1962, she married Sidney Marks and had two children, Bruce and Jeffrey. After the marriage ended, Bonnee moved to San Diego, California in 1977 with her sons working as a bank teller. Years later, her passion for music pushed her to go to broadcasting school and landed a job at KMLO Radio Station in Fallbrook where she worked evenings as a disc jockey playing the music she loved. Bonnee’s passion for music eventually was surpassed by her passion for Edward Posner, whom she married in 1987. She gave up her career in broadcasting, so they could work with one another at his company, Crown Teez. Bonnee and Ed remained devoted to one another, and traveled together throughout the country, and around the world. Eventually, they moved to the island of St. Kitt’s in the British Isles, and while business did not pan out for them there, they did find true happiness in island living. Bonnee and Ed, returned to San Diego, living in the Coronado Cays by the bay with their dog, Kody, and their cats, Thai and Bacci. The happy couple made many friends in their travels, and always loved living by the ocean. Bonnee lost the love of her life in 2016, after nearly 30 years of marriage and countless hours of cooking elaborate Friday night dinners for them.
Bonnee was passionate, independent, and was blessed with a great sense of humor she inherited from her father. She loved life, her family, her pets, and her friends. Bonnee was 81 years young when she passed away, and is survived by her sister, Arlene, her sons, Bruce and Jeff, her grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua, and her beloved cat, Frankie. Bonnee will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.
