Abraham (Abe) Isaac Parra Rodriguez

Abraham ‘Abe’ Parra passed away peacefully at Scripps Mercy Hospital In San Diego on April 2nd, 2026. Abraham Isaac Parra Rodriguez was born to Maura Rodriguez and Juan Isac Parra on April 22nd, 1997 in San Diego, CA, where he resided his entire life.

He spent his early childhood in the Mountain View neighborhoods of San Diego, quickly learning English as his second language to Spanish. At age six, he and his family relocated to the Kensington neighborhood, where one year later he was joined by baby sister Abigail Parra Rodriguez in 2004. After his parents' endogamous divorce in 2014, he happily lived an equal half-time with his mother, and the other half with his father– a routine of his own choosing that reflected his unwavering love for his family.

After high school, Abraham remained a student for several years of his early adult life, as he figured out what he wanted to dedicate himself to. He completed two years of community college before successfully transferring to San Diego State University. That is, until he received an email to apply for Workforce CCJ Solar Training. When he completed his training in 2021, he quickly jumped into a solar design internship with GRID Alternatives Southern California. That internship grew into a full-time construction position in 2022. Abe flourished with GRID, working passionately and ultimately serving as the Construction Operations Manager for GRID San Diego.

Abe was quite the hipster, his friends and family would tell you. He loved coffee– black, no condiments– he would boast that coffee served any other way is dessert, a milkshake, he’d call it. From an early age, it was clear Abe had an affinity for technology. From Nintendo to PC gaming, he had a knack for turning curiosity into skill, making him the go-to person for anything tech-related.

Not just tech-savvy, Abe was an avid hobbyist. He enjoyed rollerblading and indoor climbing, and developed a love for hiking through time spent outdoors with his father on family hikes. If you spotted him with earbuds in, chances were he was deep into some underground music you hadn’t heard of, playing his favorite alternative and indie genres, or giving in to a few mainstream hits insisted upon by his sister.

Abe had quite the passion for good food and beverage, as well as a soft spot for small businesses; he was always eager to introduce his loved ones to his best finds. From hole-in-the-wall gems to well-known restaurants, Abe was an adventurous eater who loved it all. While he had a diverse palate, there was only one exception– getting him to eat Mexican food anywhere but home– no one could best his mother’s avocado salsa.

He also loved to travel. His first trip as an adult took him to Nepal for a volunteer work project, and most recently, he traveled to Florida, where he spent quality time with friends.

Abraham will be dearly missed by his mother (Maura), father (Juan), sister (Abigail), family dog (Jingle), and many loving relatives and friends.

Abraham will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, a short walking distance from his father’s home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 4pm at Bravo Family Mortuary, 4427 Rainier Ave in San Diego.
